This course is approved to meet the new MN 3-hour ethics requirement.  

As more and more ethical abuses are uncovered, consumers are demanding tougher oversight.  The result has been increased regulator and media scrutiny of everyone’s business practices, and all of us have been subjected to heightened ethical standards.  This course will discuss compliance and ethics and will delve into the difference between acting legally and acting ethically.  Students will have an opportunity to contribute to an interactive discussion of ethical issues and guidelines regarding attitudes and specific conduct.

Discussion will include the responsibilities that insurance and financial professionals owe to their clients and the companies they represent as well as the obligations owed to the regulators and the public at large.  

Attendees will satisfy the ethics requirement, earn three hours of continuing education, and, more importantly come away with a clearer understanding of the ethical and legal responsibilities associated with their business.

  • Responsibilities to clients vs. companies
